Dr. María Mercedes Gil Campo is an eminent pediatrician with a great capacity for promoting projects that improve patient care. Thus, in 2008 she designed a new Pediatric Metabolism and Research Unit within the Pediatric Clinical Management Unit of the University Hospital Reina Sofia in Cordoba. A space where he also develops his high-level scientific activity in the area of child nutrition, making this environment become one of the reference units in the care of children with inborn errors of metabolism. 

Her lines of study delve into hormonal and metabolic alterations in children with nutritional pathology, receiving several national and international awards that further enhance her prestige.
