Preventive Medicine and Public Health is the specialty of Dr. Alvaro Serrano Ortiz, who has developed an excellent research career in this field. Thus, he is integrated in the Maimonides Institute of Biomedical Research, where his group studies the surveillance, prevention and control of infections associated with health care and patient safety in primary care and hospital.  

Thanks to this activity, he is regularly present at national and international congresses in this field, in addition to transferring his extensive knowledge to professionals studying in higher academic institutions.
