Dr. Lawrence Recht is an eminence in the international clinical field for the multiple contributions he has developed within the field of Neuro-oncology. He is a distinguished professional with more than four decades of experience in the management of cancer and its early detection, an area to which he has dedicated dozens of investigations. Thanks to his exhaustive work in the knowledge of the brain tumor, it has been established the importance of discovering how and why it evolves previously in order to treat it at an early stage, instead of focusing efforts on treating the neoplasm itself. Based on this, today this pathology is addressed more effectively and efficiently in tens of thousands of patients around the world. 

He has a distinguished academic curriculum, including his undergraduate training at Columbia, as well as additional training in Neuro-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute in New York. He is also a Doctor of Medicine, an activity that has led him to collaborate and direct various research programs in prestigious centers such as Stanford Health Care, the Stanford Cancer Institute and the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute, all of them focused on the field of Neurology and Neurosurgery.  

On the other hand, he has authored and co-authored dozens of articles indexed in international clinical journals such as the Journal of Neurosurgery, American Journal of Pathology or the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. This has allowed him to contribute to the knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors, using methods such as magnetic resonance and computed tomography to improve the detection and characterization of these lesions. In addition, he has made great advances in designing therapeutic approaches to treat neurological tumors, bringing together the understanding of the underlying biology of these conditions.
