In recent years, Clinical Ophthalmology has been marked by a steady demographic trend towards an aging population. Degenerative eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma and other deteriorations of the macula and retina proliferate in people over 60 years of age. However, scientific and technological advances in this health sector are striving to offer solutions that improve the quality of life of patients. Thus, this field of human knowledge has developed innovative equipment and treatments. These include optical coherence tomography and intraocular anti-VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) injections. Both are examples of the constant quest of specialists in this field to fully evaluate the human eye and stop the progression of complex diseases.
However, the application of these technological resources and intervention techniques is highly complex. Thus, professionals in this medical area are forced to constantly update themselves in the practical use of the different work tools available to them. In this context, TECH has devised a program of studies, pioneer in its modality, where each student will have the opportunity to develop competencies in a center specialized in Ophthalmology and its clinical care. In this program, severe pathologies such as uveitis and glaucoma will be addressed. It will also examine surgical techniques such as vitrectomy and Oculoplasties.

Over a period of 3 weeks, they will work from Monday to Friday in internationally renowned health institutions for 8-hour days. This intensive on-site stay will have a designated tutor, who will be in charge of integrating the students into the work dynamics of the center and will constantly monitor their progress.
