With an academic career that has oscillated between Pediatric Surgery and Tissue Engineering, Dr. Esther Liceras Liceras has been part of the Pediatric Surgical Unit in several hospitals. Among them are the Hospital Complex of Granada, the Hospital Complex of Torrecárdenas and the General Hospital of Alicante. 

His doctoral thesis combines, precisely, his interest in Tissue Engineering and Pediatric Pathology, since it is an evaluation of nanostructured palatal substitutes generated by Tissue Engineering for use in the treatment of cleft palate. In turn, she has been recognized by the Spanish Society of Pediatric Surgery and the College of Physicians of Almeria with two awards for her work in Development of Palatal Mucosa and Bone substitutes by Tissue Engineering.
