With a high mastery of Urological Oncology and Urethral Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Luis Martinez-Piñeiro Lorenzo holds the position of Chief of the Urology Service at the University Hospital La Paz.

He was the first urologist in Spain to introduce the technique of radical prostatectomy by laparoscopy, with preservation of erector nerves. He also maintains an intense research work publishing at least 200 scientific articles in academic publications in Europe and the rest of the world. He did postdoctoral research at the University of California and specialized in Laparoscopy at the Urology Service of the Klinikum Heilbronn Hospital in Germany.

In addition, he has official certificates issued by the United States Foreign Medical Student Educational Commission and the European Bureau of Urological Research.
