Dr. Juan José Lázaro Alcay is an expert in Anesthesiology, Sedation and Resuscitation. His more than 20 years in the area have allowed him to occupy important positions in Spanish health institutions, such as Head of the Anesthesiology Service leading a whole specialized team or as National Advisor in Pediatric Inhalation Anesthesia for Abbott Laboratories, work that allowed him to get the recognition of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona, for which he works, as the Center of Excellence for Training in the Use of Inhalation Anesthetic Agents, with international reference. 

His other areas of interest include teaching and scientific research, being Director of the European STAR Project in the Pediatric Area for the creation of devices for the evaluation of anxiety in patients undergoing surgery and the EU project led by the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands, as well as collaboration in the APRICOT Multicenter Study of the European Society of Anesthesiology for the evaluation of anesthetic incidents in Pediatrics, work that has positioned him as a reference in his field.
