Experience
Obstetrics and Gynecology are the two specialties of the prestigious and world renowned Doctor Rafael Bernabeu Perez. He is considered the father of Reproductive Medicine in Spain, achieving in 1987 the first birth by in vitro fertilization in the Valencian Community.
His commitment to medicine has led him to develop multiple R+D+i research projects, in addition to his teaching work as the head of two university chairs. Doctor Rafael Bernabeu Pérez also has a foundation for social aid and is Medical Director of the Instituto Bernabeu, a center that has received national and international awards throughout his career.
His achievements go a step further, including the first GIFT pregnancy in 1989, the first birth in Alicante with a frozen embryo in 1990, the birth, for the first time in Spain and the sixth in the world, of a baby using spermatids in 1998, the first birth worldwide of a girl free of hereditary blindness through pre-implantation genetic diagnosis techniques in 2004, and the birth of the first child in the world free of Marfan syndrome in 2006.
