Dr. Pilar Bahilo Mateu, a specialist in Urology, has extensive expertise in the use of shock waves to treat kidney stones. Therefore, she has been able to perform her medical work in the Lithotripsy and Endourology Section of the Urology Service at the La Fe Polytechnic and University Hospital La Fe. 

Although most of her career has been devoted strictly to her profession, she has also left her mark in the academic field. In this line, she has authored and co-authored several articles published in specialized journals, addressing topics such as new strategies and protocols in ESWL or the performance of shock wave lithotripsy with music.
