Dr. María Mesa del Castillo Payá, specialized in Allergology, also chose to specialize in Pediatrics given her vocation to improve the quality of life of children. Thanks to this, she has been able to access the position of Specialist Physician in the Pediatrics Area at the University Hospital El Escorial, working more specifically in the Allergy and Pneumology Section.  

Her leadership capacity, added to her constant interest in helping children suffering from various allergies, has led her to hold the position of vice-president of the Spanish Society of Clinical Immunology, Allergy and Pediatric Asthma. She has also actively participated in the Immunotherapy Committee of the Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology. Likewise, she has been a hospital tutor for Family and Community Medicine residents.
