With regard to her long career as a Specialized Midwife, Patricia Gilart Cantizano has accumulated a series of publications in the area of research and teaching of nursing practice. She has a special interest in Emergency Care and Community Nutrition. 

Another of the areas that Gilart has developed is Critical Care where she has been able to develop her work in hospital centers such as the Andalusian Health Service. Her most recent focus has been on teaching where she has participated in the development of a large number of training and postgraduate study materials.
