Dr. Leah McCoy is a specialist in Nursing and Obstetrics and holds the position of Director of the Obstetric Nursing Education Program at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, United States. Here she seeks to provide an innovative pathway for nurses to pursue a career as a midwife. With a special interest in ensuring quality care, she has dedicated herself to overseeing patient safety.

After a long career as an Obstetric Nurse, she has specialized in outpatient cervical dilation, postpartum hemorrhage management and obstetric emergencies. One of her main responsibilities has been delivery care, but she has also dedicated herself to prenatal care and the general health of the pregnant woman. She has also collaborated in a project to reduce the duration of labor induction in order to reduce by 10% the length of stay prior to delivery of the baby.
