Dr. José María Matilla González has developed a magnificent professional career as a Doctor of the Thoracic Surgery Service at the University Clinical Hospital of Valladolid.  

A health area where he has worked throughout his long career, even assuming positions of maximum responsibility given his excellent knowledge in this area and his capacity for the management and coordination of human and material resources. At the same time, Matilla González dedicates part of his time to teaching and research, being a recognized Researcher with H 10 Index in Scopus.  

The activity and involvement with the medical community is high; therefore, Matilla Gonzalez is a member of the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery, and has been part of relevant study teams in this specialty.
