Dr. Elia Del Cerro Peñalver has been one of the pioneers in Spain in introducing the new techniques of current radiotherapy such as High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, IMRT or Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy and the use of Stereotactic Systems both at brain and body level. 

Likewise, her professional career has focused on the treatment of patients with prostate cancer, gynecological cancer applying the IMRT technique, having used intensity modulation both sliding windows and step and shoot. Her leadership skills have also allowed her to direct the Oncology Department of one of the most important hospitals in Spain.
