With this Practical Training you will take a definitive step in your career.”
Introduction to the Program
Get up to date on the latest pharmacological approach offered by the pharmaceutical industry against Dementias during this Practical Training"
Today, science is searching for and exploiting a wide range of pharmacological treatments against neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Currently, drug laboratories are making progress in the production of cholinesterase inhibitors to activate neurotransmitters involved in memory and the sense of reality. Also, different exercises have been studied to stimulate, train and rehabilitate cognitive activity. These and many other new developments make it necessary for the physician to be fully updated in the discipline. Thus, TECH has identified this problem and, to solve it, has designed a new study modality.
This way, this Practical Training in Dementias explores the main trends in neuropsychological evaluation for Dementias. During 3 weeks, the graduate will exchange with leading experts on diagnostic techniques based on genetic laboratory tests and neuroimaging protocols. At the same time, they will directly address, in real patients, the latest pharmacological and non-pharmacological trends for the treatment and follow-up of patients with disorders such as cognitive vascular impairment or Lewy body disease.
This degree differs from others on the market in that it consists of 120 hours of classroom learning in a leading institution in the health sector. This practical and intensive stay will provide the doctor with an ideal setting to acquire new knowledge and apply it directly to real patients. During the internship, they will also be able to dialogue with the best specialists and, at the same time, they will have an assistant tutor who will supervise all the progress necessary to achieve their educational objectives. In addition, through TECH, you will be able to choose prestigious institutions, located in different countries or continents.
Through this degree, you will acquire complete mastery of the clinical imaging technologies necessary to diagnose different types of dementia”
Teaching Objectives
ThisInternship program in Dementias aims to provide the physician with the most up-to-date knowledge on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in an exclusively practical way. To achieve this goal, TECH has designed a fully immersive stay through which specialists will become directly familiar with different pathologies.
Thanks to this degree, you will expand your skills regarding the technologies and neurophysiological examinations essential to detect the presence of neurocognitive deterioration in your patients"
General Objectives
- Identify risk factors, the possibility of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dementia
- Explore different clinical presentations of dementia through clinical, motor, cognitive, dysautonomia and neuropsychiatric symptoms
- Master the different imaging techniques that are used in the evaluation of patients with cognitive impairment, either by structural, functional or perfusion studies and diffusion
- Recognize the syndromic categories of rapidly progressive dementia, the most prevalent diseases in each of these categories and the diagnostic algorithm to follow
Specific Objectives
- Appropriate use of diagnostic biomarkers
- Diagnose Cognitive Vascular Impairment (VaD) from its clinical phenotypes, risk factors, as well as prevention against vascular diseases
- Understand the value of structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in the diagnostic process of dementias
- Apply different neuropsychological assessment tools in different cognitive areas (attention, memory, praxis, visuospatial functions, language and executive functions), as well as the main tests to assess the functional and behavioral area in dementias
- Identify the cognitive patterns of dementias (cortical vs. subcortical and frontotemporal vs. parieto-occipital and frontotemporal vs. parieto-occipital), as well as cognitive rehabilitation strategies
- Perform and read PET and SPECT molecular imaging in dementia
- Apply molecular neuroimaging in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative conditions associated with dementia
- Identify clinical recommendations for using neuroimaging to support the diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders with dementia
- Develop diagnostic algorithms in patients with mild cognitive impairment and in patients with dementia
- Relate the different imaging markers in neurodegenerative diseases: qualitative grading of medial temporal atrophy, frontal and parietal atrophy
- Master global and hippocampal volumetry techniques
- Know the MRI semiology of vascular dementia and the main neurodegenerative diseases
- Extract all the relevant information from a neuropathological report in a case of dementia
- Evaluate the potential relevance of available genetic and clinical data to the patient's family members
With this degree you will develop extensive skills for the direct use of diagnostic neuroimaging tools such as Computed Tomography or Magnetic Resonance”
Internship Program in Dementias
Training in the approach to dementias has become increasingly relevant, as there is currently an increase in the number of people suffering from this condition. At TECH Global University we have developed a practical training program in dementias, focused on health professionals for the proper diagnosis and treatment of these neurodegenerative diseases.
In this Internship Program we have developed a training program in dementias, focused on health professionals for the proper diagnosis and treatment of these neurodegenerative diseases.
In this Internship Program we have developed a training program in dementias.
In this training program, participants will have access to tools that will allow them to learn in a practical way how to intervene in the management and care of people with dementia. The training program consists of two main modules. The first module focuses on diagnosis and treatment, through the study of the different types of dementia and the multidisciplinary therapeutic approach to be applied. The second module focuses on the attention and care of people with dementia, providing techniques and strategies to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. In summary, this practical training program in dementia offers comprehensive and complete training for health professionals to provide quality and humanized care for people with dementia.
