Due to her distinguished professional career, Dr. Victoria Villena Garrido is a reference in the field of Pneumology in Spain, which has earned her the National Medicine Award 2022, although she has already been awarded on other occasions, obtaining other distinctions such as Pneumologist of the Year by the Madrid Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery (Neumomadrid).

Her professional activity has always been linked to the 12 de Octubre University Hospital, but she has combined it with stays at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She participates in numerous congresses and lectures related to her specialty, in addition to teaching and dedicating a very relevant part of her activity to scientific research.
