This Internship program consists of a practical and intensive stay in a clinical center of great prestige. Thus, the program consists of 3 weeks of face-to-face stay in a hospital, with 8-hour consecutive days in order to emulate the healthcare practice. In this way, the students will be able to meet real patients and intervene in the clinical procedures of the center, always accompanied by specialists and experts of great prestige and experience.
In this completely practical Internship program, the activities are aimed at developing and perfecting the skills necessary to provide healthcare care in areas and conditions that require highly qualified professionals, and are oriented towards specific expertise for practicing the activity, in a safe environment for the patient and with highly professional performance.
Therefore, this academic program is perfect for nurses to incorporate the most advanced techniques and action protocols into their daily work, coming into contact with state-of-the-art equipment and professionals of enormous reputation. - Apply post-exposure prophylaxis to be initiated in the Emergency Department
Systemic Febrile Syndrome and Antimicrobials
- Evaluate and apply different biomarkers in sepsis, such as lactate and procalcitonin
- Participate in the development of antimicrobial treatment strategies for patients with bacteremia, sepsis and septic shock
- Put into practice the general principles of antimicrobial use
Specific care techniques for organ and device infections
- Apply the procedures for the care of patients with diabetic foot
- Put into practice the protocols for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers
- Implement the protocol for the management of parapneumonic pleural effusion and empyema, as well as work with the instruments for drainage techniques of the same
- Apply the procedures for care and isolation of cases of pulmonary tuberculosis in the emergency department
- Establish nursing protocols for the care of patients with different types of urinary tract infections
