Dr. María Alfonso Imizcoz is a Pulmonologist specialized in the Study and Approach of Respiratory Diseases, being an active member of the research group in this area in Navarrabiomed. 

Alfonso Imizcoz's curiosity and interest began with the completion of her PhD thesis Ventilatory, metabolic and perceptual responses to exercise in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Since then she has focused her work on comparing prognostic tools to identify low-risk pulmonary embolism in elderly patients or the current legislation on practical aspects of oxygen therapy during air travel.

In the course of her career, her interest in Sleep Medicine led her to become part of the multidisciplinary unit of a leading hospital center in Navarra and to become involved in the Spanish Sleep Society and the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery.
