Dr. Pedro Lara Jiménez began more than 30 years ago the Specialization in Radiation Oncology, which would mark the rest of his professional career. Thus, he has been a reference in this area, being President of the Spanish Society of Radiotherapy and Oncology, and Director of the Canary Islands Institute of Cancer Research. 

His leadership and team management skills have led him to direct Radiation Oncology departments in various hospitals in Spain. At the same time, he has developed his teaching facet, being Professor of the Oncology Clinic at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

• Director of the Canary Institute of Cancer Research.
• Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrin.
• Professor at the Oncology Clinic of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
• Former President of the Spanish Society of Oncology and Radiotherapy (SEOR). 
• Former Secretary of the Spanish Society of Clinical Oncology (SEOC).
