From cases of child abuse to foster students or young people with Special Educational Needs, the diversity of situations encountered with people at risk of Social Exclusion puts to the test all the skills of educators and psychologists in the area. For this reason, many of these professionals choose Internship program programs where they can continue to improve their work methods and develop their skills in different and changing environments, also improving their adaptability to all types of cases. 

For this reason, TECHhas launched this program, in which in just 3 weeks the psychologist will learn firsthand the reality of children and adolescents in situations of social exclusion, accompanied by highly trained professionals in Inclusive Education. In particular, they will manage techniques and strategies for intervention with respect to the diversity of students based on the evaluation of their educational community, family environment and social context. It will also delve directly into the role of teachers in facilitating these processes. Likewise, the professional will develop competencies to interpret, in situ, the elements and aspects of an inclusive educational institution.  

All of this will be done in a prestigious center, which will allow you to perfect and further expand your skills in the different areas of school mediation and integration of teaching communities. During this academic period, they will be supervised by a professional of the institution, as an assistant tutor. This pedagogical figure will be in charge of supervising the psychologist's educational progress and, in addition, of integrating them into the daily dynamics and tasks of the other specialists working in the center. Through this intensive 120-hour internship, the TECHstudent will acquire high competencies that will open the doors to competitive and demanding job options.

General Objectives

  • Manage techniques and strategies for the intervention with the diversity of students, as well as with the educational community: families and environment
  • Analyze the role of teachers and families in the context of inclusive education
  • Interpret all the elements and aspects concerning teacher preparation in the inclusive school

Specific Objectives

  • Develop in the student ability to develop their own methodology and work system
  • Internalize the typology of students who are at risk and socially excluded, and how the educational system should respond to them 
  • Describe the functioning of the child and youth protection system
  • Study the different types of protection measures and their treatment in the school environment
  • Analyze situations of child abuse and the protocols for action by the psychology professional
  • Identify the stages of development from birth to adolescence; achieving that students have their own judgment to establish the effects that cognitive, communicative, motor and emotional processes have on child development
  • Detect risk factors of different nature that may alter development throughout the life cycle
  • Describe the general circumstances of the students under guardianship and how these may affect their educational environment  
  • Learn how to respond to students under guardianship and their families in the school environment  
  • Apply mediation as a pedagogical tool for conflict resolution and harmonization of the educational community

Internship Program in Inclusive Education for Children and Adolescents in Situations of Social Exclusion

Faced with cases of physical, psychological, emotional abuse and social exclusion, professionals in psychology must be prepared to assist and provide the necessary care to the groups of affected minors. This is especially important in the field of education, where inclusion policies and practices have gained strength and have been integrated into different areas.
