Experience

With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Rafael Peinado is a reference in the field of Electrophysiology and Arrhythmias. As a Physician, he has developed his healthcare activity in health centers such as the University Hospital La Paz in the Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology Unit of the Cardiology Service, after specializing in Cardiac Electrophysiology, Clinical Arrhythmology and Cardiac Stimulation at the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón.

Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad Autonoma of Madrid, Rafael Peinado has a meritorious research career, having authored and co-authored more than 150 publications in scientific journals in Spain and internationally. In addition, he has made more than 300 presentations and communications in congresses around the world and has been Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator of more than 20 competitive research projects. His most recent line of research has dealt with the study of arrhythmias in patients with adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). 

Other notable milestones in his career are the creation of the Working Group on ICDs of the Spanish Society of Cardiology, having been responsible for the national registry, and the creation of the Working Group on Arrhythmias in ACD of the same society.
