Evaristo Delfín Álvarez Almanza is a Doctor of Medicine with specialization studies in Higher Medical Education, Advances in Tropical Medicine, Medical Microbiology and a Master's Degree in Medical Parasitology. 

He has led his career in Cuba as head of the Microbiology Laboratory at Héroes del Baire General Teaching Hospital and deputy director of the same health care center. He has also participated as an adjunct assistant professor at several study centers in Havana and has collaborated in postgraduate courses worldwide. He is a member of important organizations such as the Cuban Society of Microbiology and the Caribbean Medical Association (AMECA).
