Welfare and ethics related to respect for animals is increasingly present in today's society. This has motivated a legislative reform at the international level, in favor of the physical stability of the different living beings that, for various reasons, remain in captivity (in zoos, slaughterhouses, recovery centers, etc.). Based on this, veterinarians have had to gradually update their practice, since they act as essential agents in the evaluation of the enclosures, in the compliance with the regulations and in the guarantee of the promotion of animal welfare. Therefore, this internship program will serve to work for 120 hours in a comprehensive and avant-garde update in this regard, delving into the ethics applicable to the different species, in their breeding, maintenance, transport and recovery.

In veterinary medicine, the concept of "Animal Welfare" refers to all aspects related to the physical, emotional and behavioral health of animals. This is of utmost importance in zoos and aquariums for ethical reasons, as all actions carried out on an animal should aim to conserve the species without affecting its comfort. And in order for the veterinary specialist to get up to date on all the most important aspects of this field for an updated praxis, TECH has developed an eminently practical program perfect for this.
It is an experience that will be carried out in a prestigious international enclosure, performing various activities for the benefit of the animals sheltered in the place. Through the 120 hours that it contemplates, the veterinary graduate will be able to update themself in a growing area.

Throughout their Internship program, they will have the support and supervision of an assistant specialist who will guide them in each of the activities with the animals. To do so, they will follow a methodology that will allow them to identify abnormal behaviors and assess the conditions in which the animal is, in view of its application in zoos, slaughterhouses and sanctuaries.

Finally, thanks to this program, the student will receive a comprehensive, in-depth training focused on improving the conditions and welfare of animals. As a result, the student will be able to access new job opportunities within and outside the national territory.
