María del Mar Ortiz Vela is a Specialist Nurse in the area of School Nursing, as well as in Health Education, Prevention and Drug Dependency. After her time as a student, she has forged a professional career that has led her to occupy positions such as School Nurse at the Virgen de la Luz Special Education School, dependent on the Vinalopó Hospital, for more than 12 years. 

She has also become President of the Spanish Scientific Society of School Nursing and combines her work in health care with teaching in various prestigious educational centers and Scientific Researcher.
