Dr. Maria del Carmen Ortega Armenteros is a recognized specialist in Medical Oncology and Palliative Care. She has worked in various health institutions, such as the University Hospital of Jaen, in the Palliative Care Support Team, and in the Homonymous Team at the Hospital San Juan de la Cruz. 

She has also worked in the Home Care Unit of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in collaboration with the Andalusian Health Service to assist patients in their homes. She is an active member of other medical societies, such as the Association of Bioethics and Law (ABD) and the Spanish Society of Palliative Care (SECPAL).
