Macrina Sastre is a Doctor of Medical Sciences with notable experience in vaccine research at the Fisabio Foundation and a Transcatheter Heart Valve Quality Specialist at Edwards Lifesciences, a world leader in heart valve science and hemodynamic monitoring.

His work from the Public Health Research Center of the Valencian Community has been in the news in recent years due to the publication of a pioneering study to estimate the oral prevalence of the HPV.
