Advances in ultrasound devices and greater knowledge of the human being in the early stages of conception have made it possible to detect anomalies early, monitor pregnancy in its different phases and accurately diagnose different gynecological disorders. In this way, specialists are able to provide higher quality care, providing more realistic and detailed images of fetuses. 

In this regard, the advances in 3D/4D ultrasound, Doppler, transvaginal or high-resolution ultrasound stand out. Therefore, given the benefits and progress obtained by means of these techniques, the specialists are obliged to keep up to date in their field. In order to promote this updating process, TECH has designed this Internship program of 120 hours of intensive activity in a reference center specialized in human reproduction. 

It is an academic experience that was created to respond to the real needs of professionals. For this reason, the graduates will be for 3 weeks in a distinguished clinical environment, which will lead them to develop with the best experts in the most effective procedures around the realization of ultrasound with real patients. This program includes a stay of 3 weeks, from Monday to Friday with 8 consecutive days next to a team of professionals with extensive experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. In this context, the graduates will be able to enter an avant-garde clinical environment, which puts its maximum dedication in the incorporation of the most cutting-edge ultrasound technology for the detection and follow-up of patients. 

In this completely practical Internship program, the activities are aimed at developing and perfecting the skills necessary to provide healthcare care in areas and conditions that require highly qualified professionals, and are oriented towards specific expertise for practicing the activity, in a safe environment for the patient and with highly professional performance. 

An excellent opportunity to integrate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in an area that requires specialists more and more up-to-date technological and medical advances. In this sense, TECH advocates turning a healthcare space into the best environment for the improvement of competences and the increase of clinical and healthcare skills of professionals. 

The practical education will be carried out with the active participation of the students performing the activities and procedures of each area of competence (learning to learn and learning to do), with the accompaniment and guidance of the professors and other fellow trainees that facilitate teamwork and multidisciplinary integration as transversal competencies for the practice of obstetrics and gynecology (learning to be and learning to relate). 

The procedures described below will form the basis of the practical part of the training, and their implementation is subject to both the suitability of the patients and the availability of the center and its workload, with the proposed activities being as follows:  

Ultrasound Techniques 

• Participate in the performance of routine obstetrical ultrasounds, learning to identify and measure fetal structures 
• Use the Doppler ultrasound technique to assess blood flow in maternal and fetal blood vessels
• Perform internal gynecologic scans to evaluate the uterus, ovaries, and adjacent structures 
• Perform real-time (4D) ultrasound scans, which allow moving visualization of the fetus 

Fetal Echocardiography Study 

• Identify fetal cardiac structures 
• Evaluate fetal cardiac function 
• Detect congenital cardiac anomalies using the latest ultrasound technology congenital cardiac anomalies 
• Collaborate in the performance of cardiac measurements 

Study of gynecological pathologies  

• Evaluate uterine anomalies, such as uterine fibroids, endometrial polyps or uterine malformations, by means of high-resolution transvaginal ultrasound 
• Collaborate in the use of Doppler ultrasound to evaluate ovarian disorders
• Participate in the study and identification of pelvic inflammatory disease
• Interpret ultrasound findings and their clinical correlation in the evaluation of endometriosis 

Fetal neurosonography study 

• Evaluate fetal brain structures by neurosonography 
• Participate in the evaluation procedure of fetal cerebral blood flow using the Doppler technique
• Acquire skills to detect and diagnose possible brain abnormalities in the fetus
• Support reporting and effective communication of neurosonographic findings to parents and the medical team
