Experience

Dr. Carmen Gomar Sancho is an authority in university education and eminent in clinical research in her area of specialization, Anesthesiology and Resuscitation. With more than 40 years of experience, she is Senior Consultant of the Anesthesia and Resuscitation Service at the Barcelona Clinical Hospital and is a member of the Research Group on Teaching Innovation, Simulation and Patient Safety at the UManresa Campus of the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia.  

From this team and together with the Center for Innovation in Simulation, she works to incorporate simulation methodology in the commitment to educational innovation in health professionals. Within this experience as a professor, she has been the director of 33 doctoral theses, and has published 112 works in indexed journals, 128 book chapters and 12 books, including the international popularization of Clinical Cases in Anesthesiology. 

In her well versed career as a Doctor in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, she has held the positions of Head of Section and Service at the Barcelona Clinical and Provincial Hospital, as well as Director of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona, Coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Society of Clinical Simulation and Patient Safety and Vice-President of the Catalan Society of Clinical Simulation and Teaching Innovation.
