Dr. Jesús de la Fuente Varelo started in the healthcare field as a nurse and later studied medicine and completed a specialty in gynecology and obstetrics. Since completing his expertise in this academic field, he has practiced in several hospitals.  

He currently works at the University Hospital Infanta Leonor. In this institution, he is head of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Section. At the same time, he coordinates the Unit of Pathology of the lower genital tract of women in that same entity. On the other hand, he is a member of several associations and scientific societies and holds executive and organizational positions.
