Dr. Joaquim Casañas Sintes has become a distinguished surgeon by being a pioneer in Spain in the use of electrophysiologically monitored surgery, peripheral nerve surgery and obstetric and adult brachial plexus. A fruitful professional career that has always been linked to reconstructive surgery and especially linked to neurology.  

A vocation that has allowed him to integrate into his daily practice the technological and scientific-technical innovations in the approach to the main injuries of the Brachial Plexus and Nerve Injuries of the Hand. His exquisite work has led him to occupy positions of high responsibility in leading hospitals. Thus, he is head of the Brachial Plexus and Microsurgery Unit in Pediatrics at Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, director of the Hand, Peripheral Nerve, Brachial Plexus and Microsurgery Unit at Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge or of the Traumatology Unit at Centro Médico Teknon. 

With numerous scientific publications, he is a regular speaker at congresses and seminars in his specialty. In addition, Casañas Sintes stands out for his work as a teacher in high-level academic institutions and for being co-director of the National Wrist Arthroscopy Program for the AEM.
