Dr. María Baro Fernández is a nationally recognized pediatrician for the great work she has done in the clinical field with the management of hundreds of children's patients with various oncological diseases and neurological disorders. She is a professional whose quality is reflected in a multidisciplinary academic curriculum, highlighting the publication of her thesis focused on the prediction of the risk of serious infection in children with febrile neutropenia secondary to chemotherapy.  

She has also co-authored several scientific articles related to recurrent musculoskeletal pain and hemoglobinopathy or respiratory syncytial virus infection in immunocompromised patients in a pediatric hospital, among others.
