Dr. Roberto González Garoz is a veterinarian by vocation. From a very young age, it was clear to him that he wanted to focus his professional career on the promotion of the health of different species, which is why he undertook and successfully completed his university studies in this area. During his academic career he has participated in several congresses as co-author of projects and articles focused, above all, on environmental enrichment in aquatic animals and stress reduction in the pre-weaning stage in rainbow trout.
He has also been part of several lines of research focused mainly on ethical issues of slaughter in farmed fish and the promotion of their welfare through the development of innovative strategies at critical points in aquaculture farming. In addition, in 2022 he was recognized at the European Animal Welfare Symposium on Meat Ruminants for his poster "Implementation of an environmental enrichment system in sheep".
