The areas of study of Dr. Ricardo Fernández Valadés are multiple, focusing especially on pediatric pathologies such as esophageal atresias, intestinal atresias, colorectal alterations and cleft palate. His outstanding contributions to the field of pediatric surgery have earned him the title of full member of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of Eastern Andalusia.

His clinical work is centered in the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital, where he holds the position of Head of the Pediatric Surgery Service. He is also Co-Director of the Unit of Craniofacial Malformations and Cleft Lip and Palate at the same center.
