Research and care activity are the main lines of attention in the career of Doctor in Nursing Amelia Rodríguez Nogueiras, who, through her continuous studies and academic activity, has been able to achieve the definitive implementation of a new model of patient care in the Integral Unit of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) at the University Hospital de La Princesa in Madrid, in addition to having allowed its export to other hospital units specialized in the care of chronic pathologies in various hospitals. 

It involves the use of Telematic Care for patients diagnosed with IBD, where an Expert Nurse manages the cases and carries out Telematic Follow-up by telephone and e-mail. She has also become Head of Nursing Research at the hospital, where she works and maintains her position as Associate Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid and collaborates with other university training centers.
