The ophthalmologist Roberto Gallego Pinazo is a leading specialist in the field of the Macula, which is why he was one of the co-founders of the Spanish Macula Club, and is also a member of the Orphanet committee of experts in rare diseases and of the Pan-American Retina Study Group PACORES. 

Author of more than 200 publications in international journals, Gallego Pinazo has developed his professional career as a consultant in the Macula Unit of a hospital center in Spain, later becoming part of the main research group of the La Fe Health Research Institute of OFTARED.
