Laura Cano Garcia has a PhD in Health Sciences and Oncology from the University of Malaga. Also as part of her training, she has completed several programs and workshops in Rheumatology and work with autoimmune patients.

She has received awards from the Malaga Oncology College in recognition of her contributions to working with patients with osteoarticular disorders. She is currently president of OPEN REUMA, a non-profit scientific organization that brings together non-medical professionals working in this area of health.
