With several decades of professional experience dedicated to the Microbiology Service of the Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda University Hospital, Dr. María Isabel Sánchez Romero is considered an eminence in her field of research. Her main research has focused on viral and bacterial infections that can affect the heart, an area in which she has published more than 30 scientific articles.  

She is also a member of several scientific societies and collaborates assiduously with several specialized publications. She is also an advisor to the Research Department of Preventive Medicine and Microbiology at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
