Ophthalmology, Oculoplasty and Orbit are Dr. Juan Manuel Maisterrena's areas of study, so throughout his career he has worked in Ocular Surface and Cornea pathologies. He has completed his education in Argentina and France, obtaining extensive knowledge that has made him a reference in the field of his specialty.  

He has been awarded the prize for the best scientific work for his research on the usefulness of epithelials for the diagnosis of corneal pathologies, granted by the Iberoamerican Congress of Ophthalmology. He is a member of important medical societies in the service of his specialty and with great international impact.  

He has combined his work as an ophthalmologist with teaching, teaching in various academic programs of high informative value. He is also author and co-author of several articles published in prestigious journals and has participated in national and international congresses.
