- He has completed the selection process to apply for the head of the text mining unit of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC).
- An expert in the field of biomedical and clinical text mining and language technologies, he has worked on this and other related research topics for more than ten years, resulting in more than 70 publications (more than 45 of them corresponding to JCR publications) and various domains.
- Expert in specific applications of text mining for drug safety, molecular systems biology and oncology.
- Participated in the implementation and evaluation of biomedical components of recognition of named entities, information extraction systems, semantic indexing of large data sets of heterogeneous document types (research bibliography, patents, legacy reports, European public evaluation reports), assisted bio-curation workflows with text mining, interoperability standards and formats for text annotations (BioC) and text annotation infrastructures (MyMiner).
- He participated in the development of the first biomedical text annotation meta-server (biocreative metaserver - BCMS) and the BeCalm metaserver.
- Organizer of BioCreative Community Assessment Challenges for Natural Language Processing Tools Assessment and has participated in organizing biomedical text mining tasks in various international community challenges including IberEval and CLEF.
