This study in consists of a 3-week stay at a reference hospital center, from Monday to Friday, with 8-hour consecutive practical training sessions alongside an attending specialist. During this stay, you will observe real patients, working alongside a team of leading specialists in , applying the most innovative diagnostic procedures for each case.
In this training proposal, each activity is designed to strengthen and refine the key competencies required for specialized practice in this area. This way, it will maximize your professional profile, fostering solid, efficient, and highly competitive performance.
The practical training will be conducted with the guidance and support of professors and fellow trainees, facilitating teamwork and multidisciplinary integration as transversal competencies for medical practice (learning to be and learning to relate).

- Receive patients with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), analyzing contusions and potential onset of cerebral edema to assess the severity of damage
- Address brain tumors that may lead to Acquired Brain Injury based on the stage of cancer
- Evaluate motor control of the patient using specific rehabilitative medicine techniques
Addressing Issues Resulting from Acquired Brain Injury
- Analyze potential communication difficulties such as aphasia or alexia, as well as speech articulation disorders
- Address hemiplegia and hemiparesis that may arise from ABI (Acquired Brain Injury)
- Cover mental health issues in patients with ABI, focusing on emotional instability, loss of control, or depression
- Address visual difficulties such as hemianopia or diplopia, and olfactory issues like hyposmia, as well as auditory problems such as fractures of the temporal bone
Communication and Expectations of Patients with ABI
- Communicate with ABI patients, addressing the acceptance of disability and how to improve quality of life in their family environment
- Advise and guide family members of ABI patients on the complications and risks involved
