The TECH sessions are made up of 40 hours of individualised online conversation classes which will prepare the student orally to certify the B1 level of German. To achieve this, a highly effective methodology has been designed to prepare the student to pass the oral test for Level B1 German according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).  

The main objective of this program is to help students acquire the necessary oral skills to be able to certify their level and to promote their personal and professional growth by helping them to achieve success in learning German. This will be achieved through individualised classes, in an online format and taught by native university teachers.

The traditional model of language teaching, based on the repetition of simple linguistic structures with no connection to properly structured content or specific skills, has become obsolete. General Objectives

• Solve simple communicative tasks and perform the basic functions of these tasks
• Use the language being learned as a means of communication and personal expression, both in the classroom and in a wide range of face-to-face and virtual situations and on both concrete and abstract topics, including cultural ones
• Understand, interact and express themselves in these situations, orally in an adequate, reasonably flexible, precise and correct way
• Describe the sociocultural aspects related to the usual situations, as well as those related to one's own field, and use the appropriate social formulas, gestures, register and treatment in those situations

Specific Objectives

Oral Comprehension

• Understand concrete everyday or workrelated information , and identify both the general message and specific details as - long as the speech is clearly articulated and with a normal accent
• Understand the main ideas of clear, standard speech on everyday topics related to work, school or leisure time, including short narratives
• Generally follow the main ideas of a long discussion going on around them, provided that the discourse is clearly articulated at a standard language level
• Understand, in general terms, simple and short speeches on everyday topics , provided they are delivered with standard and clear pronunciation
• Understand a lecture or talk that deals with their area of expertise, provided that the subject matter is familiar and the presentation is simple and clearly structured
• Understand simple technical information, such as operating instructions for frequently used appliances, as well as follow detailed instructions
• Understand the main ideas of radio news and other simpler recorded material dealing with everyday topics delivered relatively slowly and clearly

Oral Expression

• Carry out, with a reasonable degree of fluency, a simple description of a variety of topics that are of interest to them, presenting them as a linear sequence of elements

Sociocultural and Sociolinguistic Competence 

• Know how to carry out a wide variety of linguistic functions, using the most common exponents of these functions in a neutral register
• Be aware of the most important rules of courtesy and act appropriately
• Be aware of the most significant differences that exist between the customs, usages, attitudes, values and beliefs prevailing in the community in question and their own, and know how to identify such differences
• Know how to carry out basic language functions such as exchanging and requesting information and expressing opinions and attitudes in a simple way
• Adapt their expression to deal with less common and even difficult situations. Use a wide range of simple linguistic elements with the flexibility to express much of what is wanted

Linguistic Competence

• Have sufficient vocabulary to express themselves with some circumlocution on most topics relevant to their daily lives, such as family, hobbies and interests, work, travel, and current events
• Demonstrate a good command of elementary vocabulary, even if significant errors are made when expressing more complex thoughts, or when dealing with unusual topics and situations
