After an extensive clinical and academic career, Dr. María José Martínez Urrutia has positioned herself as a leading specialist in the field of Pediatric Surgery. So much so that she holds the position of Section Chief of this specialty at the Children's Hospital La Paz, paying special attention to the area of Urogenital Reconstructive Surgery and Renal Transplantation. 

Among her merits in teaching is her participation in many courses and degrees of various kinds, including programs on Neonatal Surgery, Pediatric Urology, Caudal Pole Pathology, Pediatric Incontinence and Pediatric Nephrology, among others.
