The field of surgical technology is constantly expanding, and hospital managers are increasingly looking to recruit professionals whose profile fulfills the requirements of the job, and who are qualified and endorsed for carrying out this type of work. This is why a new team awareness has been developing among professionals in the surgical field. They continue to enrich their professional skills in this field every day in order to meet the needs of new techniques and care that come with the advances in surgery as a whole.
Today, the large number of undergraduate training hours available provides students (and future professionals) with diverse clinical experiences, but few opportunities to enhance the necessary skills to delve into surgical nursing in general, which is why many nurses seek to perfect and, in many cases, initiate their surgical skills while in active service and/or through independent study to achieve a more effective surgical nursing practice.
The Postgraduate diploma in Nursing in Surgery and Intraoperative Care is designed to update nursing professionals by bringing theoretical knowledge to surgical practice, which is vital for any qualified professional working in the Healthcare System.

Postgraduate Diploma in Operating Room Nursing and Intraoperative Care
Surgical practice is constantly undergoing technological changes, and this makes it necessary to update knowledge in preparation and care for preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative processes. Taking into account that in TECH Global University one of our main objectives is to provide students with a space for theoretical and practical specialization, we have created this program focused on everything related to clinical-effective interventions, carried out within the surgical block and the hospital environment. During the six months required by the study plan, we will first present the optimal conditions in which the facilities and equipment of the units should be found, as well as the aseptic practices of sterilization and disinfection of these areas and instruments. Subsequently, the requirements for the preparation of the patient and their respective evaluation are discussed, recognizing the special considerations regarding the physical, psychological and nutritional state. In addition, the care required by the URPA is addressed. Regarding the practical dimension, explanatory content is provided on the apparatus and monitoring in the application of anesthetic and regional/local/regional analgesic and suturing techniques.
Postgraduate Diploma in Operating Room Nursing and Intraoperative Care
With this postgraduate course, the professional in this area will be able to develop their skills in the comprehensive care of patients undergoing surgery. Thanks to the problem-based learning methodology, it is not only possible to master the thematic axes provided, but also to strengthen key competencies for the management of different situations that may occur in the operating room. Based on the knowledge obtained, the nurse will be able to understand, classify and explain the risks inherent to these interventions, which will help him/her to manage his/her practice in the most efficient way, from the communicative (expressing him/herself clearly) to the considerate (pain management, care planning). All this, in order to favor the organization and interrelation that the work in the surgical area demands, following the legal and ethical aspects that govern it.
