Dr. Teresa Hernández-Sampelayo Matos has devoted her entire professional career to the study of genetic markers in children to determine the prevalence of certain diseases in children's DNA. At the same time, she has carried out several investigations related to fungal diseases and their relevant therapeutics.  

In addition to her long career as Head of the Infectious Diseases Section at the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón, she has taken on the care of other areas such as Pediatric Gastroenterology and Neonatology.
