The contributions of Dr. José Luis Peiró Ibáñez in the field of Pediatric Surgery have been key throughout his clinical and scientific career. He has contributed to the development of pioneering programs in Fetal Surgery in Spain and Europe, implementing cutting-edge techniques in Intrauterine Surgery, Ultrasound Guided Surgery and Fetoscopic Surgery. 

His professional career is international, being the Head of Fetal Endoscopic Surgery at Cincinnati Children's Fetal Care Center. He also holds the position of Principal Investigator at the Center for Fetal and Placental Research, a position he combines with his teaching duties as Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati.

Among his most notable achievements are the design of new treatment planning and delivery strategies to improve the prognosis of some congenital defects such as spina bifida or gastroschisis, as well as the development of various minimally invasive surgical techniques such as ectoscopy, laser and harmonic scalpel.
