Experience
Dr. Idoya Zazpe is an eminent figure in the field of Neurosurgery. In addition to having an academic curriculum of the highest level, which highlights her doctoral thesis based on the genetics of brain tumors, she has made numerous clinical stays in internationally renowned centers such as the Lariboisière Hospital in Paris, the Hospital de la Beneficencia Portuguesa in Sao Paulo and the Bellaria Hospital in Bologna. All this has served as a significant asset to opt for the position of Head of Neurosurgery Service in the Hospital Complex of Navarra.
Under her leadership, brain surgery with the patient awake has been incorporated into the portfolio of services of the Navarra Hospital Complex, a pioneering treatment modality that allows a greater degree of resection (removal) of the tumor process, respecting vital neurological functions. In addition, she dedicates part of her time to research as a member of several study groups related to the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies and the Spanish Society of Neurosurgery.
