Research and teaching have been the focus of Ciro Alberto Ordoñez Gómez's professional career. Since his initial university studies in Zootechnics, he showed interest in the study and analysis of animal nutrition. Thus, he focused his doctoral thesis on the nutritional evaluation of crude glycerin from palm oil biodiesel in pigs.

A scientific career that has led him to teach in academic institutions and to participate in numerous congresses, being the author of the book Glycerin and biodiesel by-products: alternative energy for poultry and pig feeding.
