Dr. Isabel Izquierdo Macián is a Medical Specialist in Neonatology, member of the Health Promotion Committee of the Spanish Association of Pediatrics and Head of the Neonatology Service of the Child Diseases Area at the La Fe Polytechnic and University Hospital in Valencia. She is an expert in the multidisciplinary study of sudden and unexpected infant death. 

During her reputed career as a Medical Specialist in the area, she has developed numerous lines of research on the various factors of protection against sudden infant death, highlighting among them breastfeeding, experience that has helped her to become a reference in the field in the European Community.
