To speak of Dr. Juan Sabater Tobella is to speak of an eminence in the field of Metabolic Diseases Research. An expert in Genomic Medicine, he has been in the service of research and teaching for more than 3 decades, which has led him to become an Academician of the Royal National Academy of Medicine and Honorary President of the Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Catalonia. 

He was a pioneer in the implementation of the first provincial program for the early detection of Phenylketonuria and other metabolopathies and directs EUGENOMIC, a company that promotes the training and dissemination of Pharmacogenetics and Genomic Personalized Medicine, also known as Precision Medicine. 

He has also been Professor of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Director of the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry, a center specialized in the study and research of congenital metabolic diseases. Among other distinctions, he has been awarded the Health Cross, the Encomienda de Alfonso X el Sabio and the Creu de Sant Jordi.
