Dr. Marco Ranucci is an eminence in his area of expertise in Milan Italy. He stands out as Head of the Cardiovascular Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, with special interest in Anesthesiology, Cardiac Surgical Resuscitation and Intensive Care. 

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan, he obtained a Specialization in Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the same university, and a Specialization in Sports Medicine at the University of Pavia. He started as a Hospital Assistant at the Clinical Institutes of Specialization of Milan and then came to the Policlinico San Donato where he held the position of Primary Assistant and Hospital Assistant at the Clinical Institutes of Specialization of Milan until the position he holds today, accumulating almost 40 years of experience in that institution. 

As an honorary member of the most important organizations, he has been the Founder and President of the Italian Association of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologists (ITACTA), President of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologists (EACTA) and Director of the International Postgraduate Certificate on extracorporeal perfusion technologies, in addition to a versed work as a university lecturer and researcher. 

In this last facet he has more than 337 indexed articles published in authorized scientific journals, as well as specific studies on transesophageal echocardiography endorsed by the University of Cambridge, Textbook of Cardiac Anesthesia of the University of Oxford, among others.
